Lil Durk and country singer Morgan Wallen went onstage to perform their newest song, “Broadway Girls.” Other artists who wowed crowds on stage include Rod Wave, Latto, and Moneybagg Yo. The show went down at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
Before their performance, Lil Durk said that Wallen is “genuine at heart” and added, “can’t nobody cancel shit without me saying it, you know what I’m saying?”
Wallen was facing “cancel culture” for using a racial slur. Since that moment, his music has been but from major radio stations. Spotify and Apple Music removed his tracks from their playlists as well.
Wallen later came forward and apologized for his actions,
“I’m embarrassed and sorry. I used an unacceptable and inappropriate racial slur that I wish I could take back. There are no excuses to use this type of language, ever. I want to sincerely apologize for using the word. I promise to do better.”
