There’s been a lot of buzz around Philly native rapper PnB Rock after the release of his sophomore album TrapStar Turnt PopStar. Immediately after the release of his new album, PnB has been receiving endless support and admiration for being straightforward with his fans about who he used to be. Music has played a big factor into who PnB Rock is today and his album sets the record straight for those who assume otherwise. It’s clear that the art of music has transformed the before-trapping problem child into a mainstream pop star. He has received honorable recognition for his distinctive songwriting style and euphonious sound. The melodious voice that fans have fell in love with since his single ‘Selfish’ has come a long way, and it’s time for him to announce to the word that he’s experiencing a career rebirth.
PnB served his fans with a 18-song album, which was hyped lyrically with rhythmic melodies. The songs were tuneful and mirrored two different lifestyles, which he was able to express sincerely, while still showing that he is a more guided man. The album showcases a number of features aside from Lil Skies, including XXXTentacion, Lil Durk, Tory Lanez, Tee Grizzley, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Diplo, and more. Three days later, PnB released five more songs as part of his deluxe edition, which featured Lil Wayne, Roddy Ricch, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
In an earlier press release with iHeartRadio, PnB explained how this album shows his transformation as an artist.
“For my old fans I can give y’all that old PnB Rock, you know, that old struggle and pain. And also for my new fans, you could get an understanding of me, to see why I ache the way I ache, how I move the way I move. That’s the trap side of me. So bang, I give you trap side. And then, you got the pop side of me. That’s me now. Me having fun, me living life, me traveling, me growing as a person. So that’s me. Different beat selection, me having fun, that’s the pop star side of me. That’s now. So you got the trap star, and then you got the pop star.”
When you level up, you change in order to develop a better version of yourself. This double life album reflects how much PnB has accomplished in his early life leading up to the gifted hip-hop artist he is today.
