Prime Video’s superhero series, The Boys, will end after its fifth season. The news was revealed on social media by showrunner Eric Kripke.
On June 11, Kripke took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the news about The Boys’ final season. In a light-hearted twist, Kripke revealed that he’d been sitting on the ending for a while, waiting for the green light from Vought International.
“#TheBoys Season 4 Premiere Week is a good time to announce: Season 5 will be the Final Season,” he wrote. “Always my plan. I just had to be cagey till I got the final OK from Vought. Thrilled to bring the story to a gory, epic, moist climax. Watch Season 4 in 2 DAYS, ’cause the end has begun!”
Season 4 of The Boys premieres on Prime Video on June 13, 2024. The show is based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
As the logline suggests, The Boys’ fourth season promises a gripping narrative. Victoria Neuman, despite being under the thumb of the villainous Homelander, is inching closer to the Oval Office. Meanwhile, Butcher, the former leader of The Boys, is facing his own mortality and the loss of Becca’s son. With the team united against Butcher’s deception, they must find a way to save the universe before it’s too late.
The Boys stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Jensen Ackles. It’s executive-produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, Judalina Neira, Ken F.
