The opening script pages for Spider-Man: Brand New Day reveal that Peter Parker is dealing with a much darker and lonelier life.
Shared by Entertainment Weekly, the first three pages of the script include notes from director Destin Daniel Cretton, along with comments from stars Tom Holland and Zendaya. The pages confirm that the movie begins nine months after Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Peter is now living completely alone after Doctor Strange’s spell erased him from everyone’s memory. The script even compares his disappearance to Marty McFly, saying he has “vanished from existence like Marty McFly.”
The emotional weight of that choice is starting to take a physical toll on him. Peter is described as feeling “a small, sharp headache,” and the note explains this is “our first inkling that living completely in the shadows is taking its toll on Peter, something is changing, and maybe not for the better.”

Although he doesn’t have access to Tony Stark’s high-tech resources, Peter still has help from an AI named E.V. inside his suit. The script describes E.V. as “sadly, the closest thing Peter has to a friend,” showing just how isolated his life has become.
The pages also reveal that Peter is using homemade web-shooters and hint at an action-filled montage where Spider-Man may battle several comic-book villains.
According to Cretton, Spider-Man’s new costume is inspired by the versions worn by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. He pointed out that the suit has “real fabric, seams, wrinkles,” giving it a more natural look compared to some past versions that fans felt looked too smooth or artificial.

The film is, in actuality, the start of a new chapter for Peter Parker. Four years have passed since Spider-Man: No Way Home, and he is now fully focused on protecting New York as Spider-Man. But as crime rises and pressure builds, Peter starts going through a mysterious physical change that could put his future at risk.
The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. It’s produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal.
