Afrobeat’s superstar Davido is taking the crossover world by storm, enlisting R&B sensation Summer Walker and mega-producer London On Da Track for a feel-good visual to the single “Dolce & Gabbana.” Co-produced with Nigerian producer Kiddominant, the record is featured on Davido’s sophomore album A Good Time. The album hosts several prominent American artists, including Gunna, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and of course, Summer Walker. The final product is the distinct Afrobeat rhythm we all love to whine to that still favors the American Pop standard.
In “D&G” all three musicians are decked in Dolce & Gabbana from head-to-toe! From basket ball courts, to diners, and candle lit dinners with bae, the visual is reminiscent of kicking back, and having a good time with your significant other.
However, Summer Walker truly sets the tone with her velvety vocals as she joins in on the hook singing, “Wanna give it all to you, I wanna give it all to you,” and we can literally see why. Dressed in a ruby red co-ord set, she and London are boo’d up while she massages him and ties a matching du-rag around his head (if that’s not love, then what is?). Walker coons to him saying, “We got no time to waste / Come get a taste / Fulfill out my fantasies, oh / We start from the bed to the floor / Can you give me more and more? / Never had like this before.” Literally a vibe!
Beyond this video depicting what contemporary romance looks like, proceeds from the music video will go towards the Dolce & Gabbana and Humanitas Together for Coronavirus Research fund.
