Sony has hit a milestone making a debut in the ‘Frozen Empire’ Franchise
Sony has achieved a major box office record milestone. In just two months since the movie’s release, it has made significant progress in its debut. The film was premiered in the middle of March and was released on PVOD platforms at the beginning of May. Even though it was not specified where the movie would first resurface, it has shown growth and resilience, making a strong comeback.
Ghostbuster’s Milestone
The Frozen Empire has made under $113 million and over $80 million from overseas markets, bringing the total to around $200 million. Despite not surpassing some older films, everyone is excited about its performance.
This film debuted as a direct sequel to “AfterLife,” which was a hit in 2021 during the pandemic. Directed by creative director Jason Reitman, it had a theatrical impact with earnings of $130 million domestically and $203 million globally. However it failed to make a significant impact as it fell short of Paul Feig’s controversial film in 2016. This led to a poor audience reaction despite their behavior, resulting in gross earnings under $130 million domestically and nearly $230 million globally.
Franchise Debut
Despite the Franchise grossing over $1.1 billion worldwide, the Ghost Busters movie opens to $45 million domestically. Positioned between two of the best sequels, “AfterLife” and “Answer the Call,” which the ratings of the sequels weren’t the best, with a Rotten Tomatoes Scores setting at 43% and a audience response at 83%.
