Drake secured the fourth spot overall on the list, trailing only behind Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Bad Bunny. Among the other rappers featured in the top 10, Travis Scott ranked sixth, while Kanye West took eighth place.
In addition to his global ranking, Drake was recognized as the most-streamed rapper in the United States, coming in second overall after Taylor. Top greatest hits of 2024
On Apple Music, Kendrick Lamar held a significant advantage, with his track “Not Like Us,” a diss aimed at Drake, emerging as the most-played song of the year globally. This announcement was made by the streaming service on Tuesday, November 3, when it unveiled its “Top Songs of 2024: Global” playlist. Following Kendrick’s hit, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” occupied the fourth position, and Post Malone’s collaboration with Morgan, titled “I Had Some Help,” secured the sixth spot on the list.
Kendrick Lamar made his second appearance in the top 10 with his provocative feature on Future and Metro Boomin’s track “Like That,” which claimed the eighth spot. Recently, “Not Like Us” has gained even greater attention after Drake’s explosive legal actions against Universal Music Group. This chart-topping diss track lies at the center of the controversy, as Drake alleges that UMG manipulated its popularity by employing streaming bots and engaging in payola practices.
Drake has further asserted that Universal Music Group, the parent company of his label Republic and Kendrick Lamar’s longtime label Interscope, has defamed him by knowingly releasing a track that labels him in an unfavored manner.
Following Drake’s legal filings on November 25, the sales of “Not Like Us” have skyrocketed by an astonishing 440 percent, while streams of the song have surged by 20 percent, as reported by Talk of the Charts.
