According to ComingSoon, Dominique Thorne will be joining the cast of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Her character, Riri, will be making an appearance in the film. Thorne plays this character in Disney+’s Ironheart series. The latest update was confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige during an interview with ComicBook.com.
“We’re shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first,” Feige said. “She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series.”
The new film will explore Wakanda and the lives of both previous and new characters. Some are saying it’ll draw inspiration from the Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will premiere on July 8, 2022. The sequel will once again be directed and written by Ryan Coogler. The original cast is also making a return. The cast list includes Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, and Letitia Wright as Shuri.
