The Director ✨
Kate Winslet will take the helm as director, working from a screenplay penned by her son, Joe Anders, who is recognized for his performances in the 2019 war drama 1917 and the 2023 musical romantic comedy Bonus Track. The film is produced by Kate Solomon and is being developed by Working Title, which will also take on the role of executive producers.
This film represents the latest partnership between Kate Winslet and her son, Joe Anders, following their appearances together in the 2023 biopic Lee. The duo is also set to feature in Netflix’s forthcoming limited drama series East of Eden, which is a project spearheaded by Zoe Kazan and Garth Davis, and is currently in the midst of production. In addition to Goodbye June, Winslet will soon reprise her role from the acclaimed 2022 film, The Way of Water, in James Cameron’s upcoming installment, Avatar: Fire and Ash. Most recently, she took the lead in HBO’s miniseries The Regime, portraying the character Chancellor Elena Vernham.
