The 66th annual Grammy Awards aired live on Sunday (Feb. 4) from Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, the 2024 Grammy Awards saw several artists receiving the prestigious award based on their artistry, albums, hit records, and more. Musicians like SZA, Luke Combs, Miley Cyrus, and Burna Boy, to name a few, also graced the stage with outstanding performances.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift made a historical mark in the music industry after winning “Album of the Year” for Midnights, making it the first time an artist has won the honor four times. The “Bad Blood” singer also won a Grammy for “Best Pop Vocal Album” and revealed during her acceptance speech that she’s dropping a new LP called The Tortured Poets Department in April of 2024.
As far as nominations, SZA took the most home. She received nine nominations, which included “Album of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and “Song of the Year.” Luckily, the “Low” songstress secured a win with her Doja Cat-assisted single “Kiss Me More” for “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.” Additionally, SZA won “Best R&B Song” for her 2022 single “Snooze” and “Best Progressive R&B Album” for Snooze. As for “Song of the Year,” that award was handed to Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell’s “What Was I Made For?”
Notably, Killer Mike received three awards for “Best Rap Song,” “Best Rap Performance,” and “Best Rap Album” before leaving the venue in handcuffs. Jay-Z was also given his flowers that night. The rap veteran rightfully won the Dr. Dre Global Impact·award.
